Grand Hyatt Hong Kong - Guestrooms, grand cafe, teppanroom & grand club

As part of a major renovation of the hotel, BAR Studio designed Grand Hyatt Hong Kong’s new guest rooms, suites and corridors, Teppanroom (concealed within the hotel’s Japanese restaurant Kaetsu), Grand Café, Grand Club and Grand Suites.

The new interiors blend the traditional and modern, Eastern and Western in an elegant residential style. Wherever possible the new spaces maximise the celebrated views of Hong Kong.

The new guestrooms feel spacious and light-filled, contrasting with the richly hued guest-floor corridors. The Teppanroom offers a sophisticated and discreet private-dining experience, with a rich and moody interior, vibrant attitude, and wide-ranging stylistic influences layered over a Japanese base.

Grand Café has been a Grand Hyatt Hong Kong institution since the hotel opened in 1989 but after more than 20 years in operation, it was time to return the hotel’s F&B mainstay to the forefront of restaurant design by re-interpreting Grand Café for a new era without losing touch with its context and history: display kitchens bring the theatre of the kitchen into the restaurant and create a series of spaces, each with their own identity, interest and strength, that work together to form a dynamic café-restaurant environment. 

The new Grand Club has a diversity of furniture settings that suggest a sophisticated loft-space, including an intimate living room with communal table, private meeting rooms, a lounge space with an eclectic mix of comfortable seating, a library and an inviting kitchen for guest use. As a part of larger renovation works, BAR Studio’s design for Grand Club creates a link between the classical spaces and rich finishes of Grand Hyatt Hong Kong’s existing entry and lobby areas, and the fresh, flexible and contemporary spaces of the hotel’s new guestrooms. In addition, Grand Club anchors the diverse and stylish collection of interiors that comprise the renovated Grand Suites.
